Before Skeletons, Before Teeth, a prehistoric culinary experience by Anicka Yi with Care of Chan. Using the lens of “prehistoric biofiction,” Yi has imagined a prehistoric culinary experience to accompany her exhibition at Storm King. Grounded in science, “prehistoric biofiction” takes an imaginative approach to what life on earth might have looked like and could become, if different evolutionary histories had taken course. In keeping with Yi’s artistic practice, Before Skeletons, Before Teeth offers visitors an embodied experience of her installation at Storm King not only visually, but also through smell, touch, and taste.
